At 6.15pm on Saturday 24th July Kingswear Castle set off from the pontoon at Dartmouth for an evening cruise to help raise funds for the proposed rebuild of the ship over the next three winters.
Around 100, mostly from the locality, bought tickets for the cruise on this lovely evening.
The trip was organised by Chris Phillips on behalf of the Wessex and Dart Branch of the PSPS and the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust at a fare of £12 per head and all of us at KC are very grateful to him for all the hard work he put in to make the evening such a success. So thank you Chris.
All in all this event produced a surplus in excess of £1,000 towards the rebuild which is a very good result to help boost the funds.
Kingswear Castle returned to service in 2023 after the first part of a major rebuild which is designed to set her up for the next 25 years running on the River Dart. The Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust is now fund raising for the second phase of the rebuild. You can read more about the rebuilds and how you can help if you can here.
