The Lake Zurich paddle steamer Stadt Zurich arriving at Insel Ufenau. “Full astern!”

Who says paddle steamers need big piers to call at?

The lovely Escher Wyss engine dating from 1909.

Fancy lunch in the ornate dining saloon?

Or eat with a panoramic view from the upper deck.

The two paddle steamers on Lake Zurich, the Stadt Zurich and Stadt Rapperswil are slightly smaller than their cousins on Lake Lucerne and have a different feel about them. Weekends are often busy on the lake with locals from Zurich and the surrounding cantons enjoying a relaxing trip and tucking into delicious grub.
