KC celebrated her Centenary with a combined steam railway and river trip on Thursday 26th September. After a welcoming cup of coffee at Paignton invited guests boarded the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company train, pulled by the also 100 year old steam engine Goliath, for the scenic rail trip to Kingswear where they were taken across the river by ferry to join Kingswear Castle for a cruise on the River Dart. KC cast off at 1pm and first sailed down to the Castles at the river mouth and then up river to Duncannon during which a delicious buffet lunch was served to the guests along with a free bar.

Kingswear Castle returned to service in 2023 after the first part of a major rebuild which is designed to set her up for the next 25 years running on the River Dart. The Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust is now fund raising for the second phase of the rebuild. You can read more about the rebuilds and how you can help if you can here.
