The Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat (DSRRB) Company re-opened after a long winter on Tuesday 13th April.
Currently, and until 17th May, the steam train with ferry connections from Kingswear to Dartmouth is operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with departures from Paignton at 10am, 11.15am, 12.25pm, 14.10pm, 15.20pm and 16.40pm.
One or other of the larger vessels like Cardiff Castle is also assisting on the ferry service to help ensure social distancing and great attention has been paid to making the journeys Covid secure. For more details of all this check out their website here.
It is anticipated that KC will come off the slipway later this month with a view to being ready to start sailing sometime later in May although a date for this has yet to be confirmed.
Kingswear Castle returned to service in 2023 after the first part of a major rebuild which is designed to set her up for the next 25 years running on the River Dart. The Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust is now fund raising for the second phase of the rebuild. You can read more about the rebuilds and how you can help if you can here.
